frequently asked questions

What age of patients do you see?

Dr. Wilkerson sees patients of all ages! A child's first eye exam should be between the age of 6 month to a year!!! This is to ensure a child's binocular vision is developing appropriately and there are no ocular health issues.

Do I have to have an appointment?

We prefer that you schedule an appointment for your eye exam. However, we do offer same day appointments, and you are welcome to walk in for emergency eye care. Just keep in mind that patients with scheduled appointments will be seen before walk-ins.

I only have medical insurance. Will it pay for an eye exam?

All insurances are different! We are glad to review the benefits your insurance offers with you. While most medical insurances do not cover the refraction (determining your glasses prescription) or glasses , they do pay for a comprehensive or medical eye exam, which is essential for maintaining your vision. Additionally, if you have children, it's important to consider pediatric eye care to ensure their eye health is monitored.

Do I have to get my eyes dilated?

Digital retinal imaging (DRI) is offered in-office for an additional copay, and while most insurances do not cover DRI, it can be beneficial for your overall eye exam. This advanced technique allows Dr. Wilkerson to evaluate the health of your retina without the use of dilation drops, making it a great option for all!

How much do glasses cost?

We offer a variety of frames to fit all budgets, with glasses pricing starting at just $100 for a complete pair of single vision glasses. If you're planning to schedule an eye exam or have a specific budget in mind, including your insurance allowance, just let us know! We're here to help!

Do my glasses have a warranty?

All frames come with a 1 year warranty, covering damage due to defects rather than general wear and tear. Additionally, when you schedule an eye exam, you can explore our glasses pricing and take advantage of our anti-glare treatments, which warranty lenses for up to 2 years.

Do I need an appointment to shop for glasses?

Feel free to stop by any time to shop for glasses!

If you have questions regarding eye exams, glasses pricing, or pediatric eye care that have not been answered above, please call us at 918-708-1888.
